The idea of God providing rest for us—physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually is found throughout Scripture.  Take some time today to read through the following verses. Choose one that you will take with you for the rest of the week.  Perhaps return next week and choose another. Saturate yourself in what the Lord says to you in the form of these promises of His presence and His peace:

 ·        The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” —Exodus 33:14

·        The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul.—Psalm 23:1-3

·        Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him… Wait for the LORD and keep his way.   —Psalm 37:7, 34

·        Be still and know that I am God! —Psalm 46:10

·        "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. —Matthew 6:19-20

·        Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. —Proverbs 3:5-6

·        I will listen to what God the LORD will say... —Psalm 85:8

·        Restore us, O God; Let Your face shine, that we may be saved. —Psalm 80:3, 17, 19

·        I will meditate on Your precepts and fix my eyes on Your ways. —Psalm 119:15

·        "I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. —Jeremiah 31:33

·        One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple. —Psalm 27:4

·        The mind set on the Spirit is life and peace. —Romans 8:6

·        ...I have learned to be content with whatever I have. --Philippians 4:11

 ·        Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you. --1 Peter 5:7

 ·        Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you. --Psalm 55:22

 ·        For He has said, “I will never leave you or forsake you.” --Hebrews 13:5

 ·        Restore to me the joy of your salvation… --Psalm 51:12

 ·        ...may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. —2 Thessalonians 3:16

·        May your unfailing love rest upon us, O LORD, even as we put our hope in you. --Psalm 33:22

 ·        And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. --Philippians 4:7

 ·        Peace I leave with you;  my peace I give to you. --John 14:27

 ·        Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid.  -John 14:27

 ·        Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him. —Psalm 62:5

Reflect:

·        What will you change in your schedule, commitments, habits, behaviors, relationships, etc. to better hear God’s voice in this season”?

 ·        What do you hope to change longer-term to better connect with God when the former “noise” or expectations of your pre-COVID-19 life returns?
