For over twenty years, Shirley’s call has been to help individuals and churches figure out God’s call, discover how they are gifted, see where and how they are motivated, and assist them in linking all of that to every aspect of their lives. Her heart’s desire is to connect people and organizations with the resources and encouragement they need to be their best. This has looked like everything from coaching and teaching to consulting and leadership development of a broad diversity of leaders and teams. She is currently on staff as Equipping Ministries Director at Grace Commons Church in Boulder, Colorado, in addition to working as a life and leadership coach, facilitator, and consultant.

Two decades ago the smartest recruit I made in the ministry was Shirley Giles Davis. Over these years she’s taken the Lay Ministry of First Pres Boulder to great heights. Now her expertise has been gathered in this new workbook for many more to discover their gifts the Gracious God has given to every believer.

Thanks for your excellent, faithful work and your personal witness to Christ in your role as EquipConnectServe Ministries Director. I appreciate all you do!
— Dr. Carl Hofmann, Pastor, Congregational Care, First Pres Boulder ECO, CO
Thank you so much for coming to speak at the retreat. It was great to have you. Everyone said how much they enjoyed hearing you talk. I think that you did a great job of explaining the gifts and bringing a sense of unity and working as a body. Many women said they had not had such a positive experience of acceptance and non-comparison in a group of women, which you helped to encourage. I also appreciated the Sunday morning talk on looking to God and the reminder of the purpose of our gifts. The talk about Moses also spoke to me personally.
