A Commissioning Prayer for New Leaders
Father, we pause to speak truth over these Your servants as they prepare for the roles to which You have called them.
May they see themselves as vessels through which Your grace moves into this community every time they show up.
Remind them that they have been placed in this Body exactly as You intended, uniquely equipped by You.
You have summoned each of them by name—may they find reassurance in having been appointed by Jesus himself and see their roles as ministry not volunteering.
Thank You, Lord, that you have commissioned them, You go ahead of them, You promise to grant them Your wisdom and discernment—to know the next step.
We are so grateful that they are known — by name, in heaven, before any title or accomplishment or outcome. May their rest in whose they are.
Fan their service into healthy equipping of others—as they assist others in finding their places in this Body.
Animate them with Your Spirit—that same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead. May they be available to your empowering on a daily basis.
As they seek to serve, may they image You.
And remind them that Your joy transcends challenges and outcomes. As they obey You first, grant them Your joy as their strength and sustenance.
Amen.
