Pastoral Prayer for Joy, Healing, Hope, and PEACE
Lord, we rejoice this morning because You are God and You are here with us in this place of worship. We acknowledge our need for Your presence—today and in the days to come.
This morning, we humbly pray for peace…we ask You to defeat the human and spiritual forces that continue to cause crises across our city, nation, and world. In Your grace, help us live into our identity in You…to think and act as Your agents of love and peace and reconciliation. You are our peace.
We pray for healing and hope. In the places of brokenness, darkness, or despair, Lord, bring Your wholeness and restoration. We take a moment now to silently lift up the names of those who come to mind—who are struggling—and commit them to Your ongoing care. [pause]
We surrender to You as we allow You to do Your work of transformation in us and then through us in our church, our families, our friendships, our workplaces, our neighborhoods, our communities… wherever we find ourselves. Develop in us deep spiritual perseverance, overcoming faith, and Jesus-like character. Make us instruments of Your joy, healing, hope and shalom.
Holy Spirit, fill us. Work in and through all who lead us each week in worship—may we be in awe of only You!
In Your all-powerful name we pray,
AMEN.
