PASTORAL PRAYER—FOR CHILDREN, YOUTH, GLOBAL  AND LOCAL PARTNERSHIPS, DECISION GUIDANCE

HEAVENLY FATHER:

WE COME TO YOU THIS DAY IN NEED OF YOUR PRESENCE IN OUR LIVES AND IN OUR MIDST.  WE PAUSE NOW BEFORE YOU TO ACKNOWLEDGE WHERE WE HAVE FALLEN SHORT…TO BRING TO YOU AREAS OF OUR LIVES, OUR HEARTS, AND OUR MINDS THAT HAVE BEEN LESS THAN HOLY THIS PAST WEEK. [Insert own confessions: ___________________________]

WE THANK YOU THAT YOU PROMISE TO REMOVE THESE SINS FROM US…AS FAR AS THE EAST IS FROM THE WEST. 

WE ASK YOUR BLESSING ON ALL PREPARATIONS FOR TEACHING AND LEADING OUR CHILDREN AND YOUTH.  PLEASE PROVIDE AN ABUNDANCE OF THOSE WILLING TO SHEPHERD AND KIDS/YOUTH EAGER TO LEARN.  GRANT OUR MINISTRY LEADERS NEEDED WISDOM AND STAMINA.

THANK YOU FOR THOSE SERVING AND LEADING IN DIFFICULT PLACES AROUND THE GLOBE. RAISE UP HEALTHY CHURCH LEADERS IN THESE CHALLENGING CONTEXTS.  GRANT THEM SUCCESS AS THEY TRAIN OTHERS TO SPREAD YOUR MESSAGE THROUGHOUT COUNTRIES TORN BY WAR AND STRIFE.

WE ARE GRATEFUL FOR THE PARTNERSHIP OF THE GOSPEL WE HAVE WITH OTHER MINISTRIES LOCALLY.  UNITE US, YOUR PEOPLE, THAT OUR NEIGHBORS WILL KNOW WE ARE CHRISTIANS BY OUR LOVE AND OUR ONENESS OF MIND AND HEART.

GUIDE US TODAY AS WE SEEK TO MAKE DECISIONS ON NEW STAFF/MINISTRY LEADERS.  MAY YOUR HOLY SPIRIT BE MIGHTILY AT WORK, GIVING US YOUR WISDOM AND DISCERNMENT AS WE SEEK TO KNOW AND TO DO YOUR WILL IN THESE MATTERS.

AND, NOW, WE JOIN OUR VOICES TOGETHER TO PRAY AS YOU TAUGHT US, SAYING:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.  Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for Thine is the Kingdom and the Power and the Glory, forever.  Amen.
