Your Gifts are a Way to Steward What God has Entrusted to You

Ultimately, our gifts are a way to steward what God has entrusted to us. And, our passions, interests, life experiences, life seasons get added to our unique mix of gifts…meaning we each show up differently.

What if most of us knew and lived out our spiritual gifts in the power of the Holy Spirit to the glory of God? What if our churches looked like a healthier Body of Christ, exhibiting broad diversity and uniqueness while living in unity, love, and peace?

If you are doing the God. Gifts. You.: Your Unique Calling and Design six-week workbook, each of you has hopes—to discover your gifts, to be part of others unearthing theirs, to know what to pay attention to in this season, to help in anticipating a future season, to heal, to find direction, to understand yourselves better, to serve others meaningfully.

Some of you are in a time of ending something significant…end, new beginning, with transition in between. Some of you are seeking parenting wisdom, guidance, support…the BEST most important thing you can do for your children is to deepen your own relationship with Jesus…to fully embrace your identity in Christ…to find your confidence in Him. Less self-focus and more self-awareness and God-awareness… [Bask in Psalm 139—ask the Lord to help you deeply know and believe these powerful truths about Him and about yourself.] Some of you are grieving significant losses and wondering how to find God’s guidance in the murkiness of grief. Some of you are at a pivot point with regard to work/vocation—and hoping for the Lord’s clarity for your next steps.

Wherever you find yourself, set aside time in silence to listen to the Lord’s still, small voice. Let Him be the one to grant you needed wisdom and discernment in this season. Rely on Him to show up, to be faithful (as He promises) and to bestow on you the ability to soar on eagle’s wings or run and not grow weary or simply walk—one foot in front of the other—and not grow faint (Isaiah 40).

Reflect:

·         Your gift/s + your own ego/anxiety/desire to “fix” = making it about yourself.

·         Your gift/s + your own communion with the Lord to remove your ego and anxiety and desire to “fix” = faithful discipleship living.
